Both of the following notebooks were customized at Hypersonic.com. The only major differences are the CPU's, Memory sticks, and GPU's, plus screen size. Most of you will probably say NUMBER 1 (I may be proved wrong) but the reason I posted this is because I have grown fond of the Intel Core 2 Duo desktop CPU's and I was wondering if the T7600 I have selected in Number 2, with its slower Front Speed Bus, is better or worse then the AMD Turion 64 I have in Number 1. I am aware of the L2 Cache differences and the fact that the Core 2 Duo E series has blown everything out of the water. Also, what is the difference in the DDR 400 (PC 3200) and the DDR2 667 (PC 5300) memory? The reason I am asking these things is because at some point I'll be spending 6-months to a year somewhere in Europe and I'll need something to do, I obviously can't take a desktop. Also, I may come up with more questions, which will be edited into the bottom of this topic post. the top one has a better GPU solution(two 7900GTXs over oen 7950GTX), the bottom has a better CPU solution and probably a better life. FYI the mroe crap you put ionto a ntoebook, the shorter the battery life. id' personally go with the latter solely beause both will max out any direct x 9 game for a fair amount of time and the secodn will last logner for general sue as it is a dual core system, it also has better battery life
Be the one to point out the obvious! haha, just kidding. But seriously....I already new that. It WAS pretty obvious. lol. But, over that past hour or so I've started drifting towards number 2 because they are both really good, top of the line GPU's. And I've always trusted Intel over AMD, owned anything but AMD (as far as I know...). Some might object of the 19"-17" drop but it's still bigger then the 15" CRT on my Dell. Plus I like Core 2 Duo's more.
AMD is still a viable option, they kicked hard for the last 2.5 years it's just that core 2 rules this place now.
Yeah they do, thats why I love my bros new $3000 dollar comp with the Core 2 Extreme X6800 and 2 7950 GX2's in Quad SLI!!!! That s**t is rediculous! It totally crushes my friend Austins $6000 Alienware AMD FX-60!

you realize your brother was stupid tog et that since GeForce 8800 is out in 4 days and is direct X 10 complaint, (dx9 cards like the 7950s can't even start a dx10 game yet aloen run it) and yes c2e 6800is nice... wish i had one, I'm just stuck with a 6400 which can run at 3.2G on an undervolt...
They don't even understand a word you said, chris. Get the second. I'm not sure the Turion has AMD Cool 'N Quiet, which lowers the CPU clock while it is not being used all that much (saving battery life); although I know the Core 2 Duo has Intel Speedstep, which is almost identical to AMD's Cool 'N Quiet. Also, look at the CPU Cache comparisons. They aren't even close. Another point is that AMD's HT bus isn't as efficient FSB, so I wouldn't really worry about that too much. Also, there is a BIG difference between DDR-400 (PC-3200) and DDR2-677. DDR2-667 runs in dual-channel, generally meaning better preformance, and it's at a high frequency. Choice #2 ftw.
Actually he didn't get it, his super rich girl friend bought it for him. We live in NC and her parents own the towns local soda, Cheerwine, which is only sold in a few states, but imo it's the BEST soda EVER, it's cherry and you should go to the website and order it! But anyways....she's not exactly electronically intellegent. So I figure if he cares enough he'll save some money and upgrade later, but he probably doesn't care enough. But I did know about the L2's, and that Conroes made AMD kick the can. But AMD used to rule so it's still slightly effective, but not really. And Diablo, I know all about Newegg and I actually had planned on buying it there. lol. I've bought a lot of things from them, such as my 360 and the NEC DVD Burner for my comp (works great!).
Lol. I have one too. I bought it when it was $41!!!!! (back in January '06.) PS -- If your brother buys the new 8800, can I have his old graphics card xD Also, your computer isn't that bad. It's comparable to mine, considering it's graphics card is better (although my RAM and CPU are better.)
