The Radeon AGI x1600 256 mb video card was what i was talking about. I dont really see the difference between the two rather then the version. i was thinking of getting nvidia instead but idk. any ideas?
wtf. what for? that would be stupid because all i need is a video card lol. alll i would need to get is some parts. i already got my cpu
BTK you have this issue... you don't realize that stuff costs money x1600 costs like 95$ on newegg. i'd suggest an x800GTO(for $85) or a 7600GT over it though
You cant compare manufacturers like whats better ATI or NVIDIA there's too many video cards. You can compare individual cards. So tells us what 2 cards your considering X1600PRO (I haven't seen a X1600) and what NVIDIA card? It's a matter of the card not the manufacturer.
7600GT is a better card than the x1600pro x800GTO costs less than either and can be unlocked to yield performance levels simlar to that of the x850XTs and the 7600GT(not quite as high and not guaranteed)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...29919&CatId=935 $199.99 from tigerdirect. What's your local PC store?
tigerdirect rapes you, you could get a 7900GS for 40$ off that price... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130062 $110 after 20$ MIR (EDIT: do you need an AGP card? if so, then the x1600pro for 100$ is the ebst buy)
xelink - yes im better off with AGP cards. thats what i use BTK - not sure. thats why i was thinking of just getting radeon but idk
We need to find out what kind of slot your mobo has before you make a useless purchase. Download the program below. http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-137.zip Unzip it and open it. Now go to the "Mainboard" tab. Now take a pic of the mainboard tab and post it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingRe...N82E16814102038 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814127219 both offer about the same price/performance. x1600 is moderately more overclockeable with voltmods but i don't think anyone here on these forums(myself included) are really into that kind of thing. Merged Post: BTK read the topic, he has aquired a P4 system with an AGP port. don't know if it's northwood(prefered) or rpescott, but at 3.2G it should be allright for either assuming he does not need insane.
www.systemrequirementslab.com scans your system to let you know how you could play all of the games out there(or at least the popular ones)
