Crew Suggestion

That's dumb... 2k for a forum? What in the hell is the 5k used for? Them putting us on a list saying their an official group? If thats the case then thats retarded.

Most of the members change their name to the 2 letters the group uses, the mods/admins don't do that... But seriously whats the big deal with making a few extra forums? Or allowing the crew to make a separate forum?

How would this affect GR?

 

I find the suggestion of making privite hidden forums stupid for 1 fact. I have read a lot of ppl moaning about the "lag" at gr. Well If you start adding more and more forums then the bandwith taken will increse and the "lag" will jsut get wors.

But I belive that they should reconsider the rule and make it so everycrew may create there own privite forum. And maybe have a mod from gr be a mod there ... or something so they can keep an eye on it.

The mods said that it was just more boards to have to moderate, and yea, once somebody leaves it could be chaos and stuff.

Its just more bandwidth too like the guy above stated.

I dunno wha the 5k is used for though, just to get credits out and to make sure people aren't going to be making crews off the wall and that its taken more seriously perhaps

But still is kinda schistey, What is the big deal with us creating a off GR forum? We obviously can't do it here...

They need to re-write the rules on crews.

The crews get virtually nothing.

 

In order for each forum to be invisible and only visible for each crew, you would have to have a crew group for each crew made, and this site isn't a site based on crews.

As for just having all the crew forums that you can password for the crew, someone will slip up, it will get out, and all your resources could be shared. People can hack the site and get the hash keys for the passworded forum, etc.

While I do believe this is a good idea and would encourage getting members to be involved in creating crews and spending their credits (which ultimately are taken out of the system) and would greatly help with the inflation of credits at the current date, I don't believe this idea is feasible without a lot of added work to the administration of the site.

 

You more or less stated what most already brought up...

And to make things 20x easier, why not let us have an actual private forum?

There would be no reason to have GR presence as it's crew stuff and only the crew would be allowed, and maybe if something occurred then we'd let a trusted GR mod/admin in.

The only thing I don't understand is whats so wrong with us doing the above.

 

That's exactly the reason why I said certain people should have moderator rights in that forum (e.g clan leaders).
Also I'm sure BFTP could create a mod to house this.

 

Yeah i dont see wats wrong with an offsite forum just for the crew.

i would understand if we wanted to attract more than just crew members but if its just fir the crew wats wrong with it.

 

Common... This isn't one of the issues you can ------foot around.

It's not that hard to state a reason, or maybe even a yes.

 

might be best to stay calm if you want an answer. Not all mods look here and those that do maight not know the answer

I agree though, why can't they have a private forum outside GR?

 

I know from being on alot of Forums that crew forums work out really well. For some reason the ones that are PW protected dont work to well but sub-forums DO work. I have had powers to clean on that forum of unwanted post/threads and it is'nt really a burden on the Admins.

 

It's been suggested before. In my opinion it's too much work to set up groups, then permissions, then forums, then setting up permissions for each forum, then add leaders, then add / remove members as they come and go.

 

^^BUt all the work would pay off with more members and better reasons to buy credits

 

its not setting it up here but it is against the gamerenders rules for a gamerenders crew to have an offsite forum

right now being in a crew is just a luxury to show you are eithr good or rich

so by creating these offsite forums it will make the members of the crew more active.
