it would essentially be an entire new PC FYI, hanging onto your legacy equipment woudl be a waste fo time ad resources and your current system would make a great backup/general use system.

if you want, you could post a thread and ask for advice on indiidual parts(after giving a price limit) and we'll see what we can do, or we could try finding an OEM solution

FYI, you can't do much upgrading with your current system...

you could build a system that would run it fine for about half that much(800-1200$)

on an unrelated note, srtest isnt 100% accurate. a 930Mhz PIII is compareable to a 1.3Ghz P4 give or take. it also misrates a few things. says a 3.066GHz Core 2 duo is comapreable to a 4.6GHz P4, it's more comparewable to a 5.4GHz P4 and just a few other small thigns here and there.

3Gb ram? I dont think so. 2GB will just be fine.

I think you would be able to run the game, but playable, no. You really would have to invest in a new PC as it's not worth upgrading your current system. I'm sure you can get a pretty system for 800 (exclude the keyboard/mouse/monitor).

Btw, do not get a premade PC from some other company like HP, dell or fujitsu. Build one your own or let your uncle do, you can always post a build here and we can check what you can buy better instead of,,, etc.

BF2 has 1GB on the recomended specs(but users have found 1.5-2GB to be best)
I assume BF2142 will follow the same patern

3.2GHz P4 system should be more capable. nothing insane but definately capable.

a 3.2GHz P4 is fine, your graphics card is crap that's all.

or you lack a proper amounbt of RAM

    or both

the 95500 is an AGP card which means you could upgrade it.

Go for the 7800GS for the best

X800XT and X800GTO are also good.

    Do you mean the X1600PRO?

If so that's pretty good. But it's a rip off for what you get. You could esailty get a much better card for $150.

My suggestion get a new PC.

If you want one now then go

A good ASUS LGA 775 mobo.

    Core 2 Duo E6600

    7900GT / X1900XT

But you should wait for dx10 and get

    Good LGA 775 ASUS mobo

    Core 2 Duo E6600

    8800GTX

or wait for the 2k radeon or if you want something cheaper but not as good as the 8800GTX go for the 8600GT
