lol, I doubt they can keep making up decent stories after the 14th game.

Well, they can always get new writers, and i really dont think it would be that hard to make more stories. Hopefully it goes far past 20. I just got 12 today, collectors edition, and i got the collectors strategy guide too... yea, im obsessed =)

You're obsessed and i'm not joking.
    Anyway...
I've played FF12 and i've found it to be nothign special.
Everythign they added was done before by various games.
    I would give it a strong 8.0

    I think it's a great game.
They made 12 because they were all a success so why not going further and further, if the story is well written and gameplay is nice.
    They can go really far

I saw quite a few of these commercials, my sister likes FF in the family, but she isn't a fan freak of it, she only really likes X and X-2

    No.
They've made FF 12 to milk money out of unsuspecting fools, just like you.
Why do you think they are making all these FF 7 prequels and sequels?

Yes, because FF12 really does use people like Cloud, Tifa, Vincent, Sephiroth, etc.

You sir, are an idiot, sure... they are in this to make money... like EVERY company around, but FF 12 is so far from FF 7 that I don't know how you could consider it to be similar... These are all not just re-done FF7... each one has its own story line (minus the ----ty, imo, FF7:DoC, and FF X-2).

Each new chapter makes a new storyline, and it will continue to be made and continue to be boughten until they flux up, and considering the Final Fantasy series is one of the longest running, and yet... still highest rated RPG series of all time... I doubt it going to go anywhere. One of the main reasons it is rated so high is because they DON'T use the same story line and they mix it up between chapters.

    You didn't understand me.
I didn't say that they "use people like Cloud, Tifa, Vincent, Sephiroth, etc." i've said that they are making too many FF 7 prequels and sequals, like Dirge of Cerberus,Before Crisis,Advent Children, etc.
    Yet again,you misundarestanded me.
I didn't compare the two games,i only said that they made it to milk out more money, which is natural, since everyone wants money.
And some chapters are still highly overrated(FF VII) while some are underated(FF VI,FF V)
They don't use the same storyline?
I used to believe that too when there was only Squaresoft, but with Squeenix came X-2,Dirge of Cerberus....

umm... the purpose of the whole sequel/prequel of the game is so that it follows or continues a storyline...

Dirge of Cerberus is Vincent when he was a turk before the events of FF 7, FF X-2 is the events following yuna after the incidents in FF X, given that I think any of the 'true' sequel and prequels are absolutely horrible... like DoC and X-2.

And if you note... X-2 and DoC are not rated highly at all, its the main chapters that are rated nice and high :P lol

And i think we can all agree that each story is different... whether it be 7/8/9/10/etc. but they are starting to be based in similar settings... such as the FF 12 mediblocked futuristic style, and FF 9's mediblocked setting and the older games mediblocked style... outside that, its new characters, generally new monsters, new spells, new storyline, hell FF 12, for the first time, doesnt have a bahamut summon even... i was amazed when I saw that :P

and i have no clue as to why mediev.al is blocked... but mediblocked should be mediev.al

True, but there aren't many people who remember that Square said "Sequels/prequels to FF games shall not be." and when Square merged with Enix they broke their wov and released ----ty prequels/sequls.
My brain starts to melt when i think about FF X-2 and DoC.
    Similiar settings and similiar story.
Both FF 12 and FF 9 seem to be in "mediblocked" setting, but at the beggining of FF 12 you can see they use some highly advanced technology and some other mumbojumbo.
Well,it's not all new, most of the things you mentioned they recycle from some older FF games.

bleh, ff games just follow the same "futuristic/fantastic" pattern, i guess as long as those japanese guys will have enough imagination, there will be more final fantasy games...
