ok i have this problem with windows media player as it wont allow for vidz online to play, or load or anything.

to be honest i have no idea what is wrong with it, as far as i know i have all the settings correct.

ok breif history of what i did somewhere along this problem

    ----------
i upgraded brom wmp 10 to wmp 11 beta
(somewhere around here is when i first noticed the problem)
i then uninstalled wmp 11 beta
and tried to reinstall wmp 10 and it wouldn't work, i get an error saying i'm offline and i need to do an online install. but i am online so i dont get it
and i get the same problem when i try and install wmp 11 beta
but i still have wmp on my computer, i can play video's, listen to music, etc. but i cant do it online. idk why it just wont work.

    any ideas?

Do you have CCleaner installed on your computer?

As stated on the microsoft website, this program may delete the folder needed to uninstall Windows Media Player.

"You might not be able to roll back to a previous version of the Player if the hidden folder $NtUninstallwmp11$ is deleted from your computer. Some non-Microsoft programs (such as CCleaner) delete this folder in an attempt to remove unwanted files from your computer."

Just curious if you didn't see it...

Another option would be to go to the options in Windows Media Player and force it to connect to the internet. This might enable you to reinstall it, not sure though.

Click on Now Playing > More Options > Connect to Internet.

    Then try and reinstall?

I think a system restore may be your only option.
