Improve some of the lighting abit, atm it looks abit messy and too intense. Try to incorporate some sort of border around each of the content boxes to seperate the content abit better, atm theres no clear seperator except for the change in gradient/lighting. Remove the dark line from the text in the navigation.

The most used resolution is 1024x768, so the widest you can go is 1024, height doesnt matter because thats why we have scrollbars...

As for the actual template, you are using interface type techniques (lighting effects, lens flare on color dodge, the neon blue with outer glows, text, etc.) on a flat styled template. Its understandable to create depth, but it is normally (keyword) shown through gradients (darker in the middle = dip in, lighter in the middle = beveled upwards) and generally fade down to nothing...

If you were to make this into an interface, the style you have would fit it well. My personal favorite is an artist by the name of demondan666 for interfaces, here is his DA for some inspiration: http://demondan666.deviantart.com/ . Outside that it just appears you were mixed up as for which style you were trying to go for.
