During their time people thought they were crazy too. You only think there normal because we have the technology to support them. History repeats itself, what will happen in 1,000 years? These "nutty" philosophers might be proven right.

Calling Philosophers nuts or insane is retarded.

These people's goal is to gain another uncommon point of view.
Ages ago, people thought the world was flat, we could be wrong about things just as they were.

I'm really interested in philosophy, it's a shame that there aren't any philosophy lessons or classes in Germany, but Religious Education is everywhere :|

But in conclousion, philosophers aren't nuts, in fact they are probably smarter than you think. It takes alot of time to think about things nobody has ever thought about.

LMAO, I've seen that episode

And no philosophers aren't nuts. Maybe a little eccentric, which is a good thing, but not crazy. It's better to be an original/unique person who can think of interesting points rather than a zombie with the same old boring point of view.

The topic question was childish and ill-defined in the first place.
And to answer the question, no, they are not nuts.
The whole thought process of philosophers and philosophy is just difficult for masses to grasp, that's all.
Read Plato's Allegory of the Cave if you have the time. =)

I philosophise a lot. Generally, it's just thinking really. But the big ones, ones that do this for real purposes think about everything. Usually, laws of physics, time, possibilities.

They just want their own perspective and increase the veiwing angle (If you catch my drift)

And as for me, no, in now way do I think they are nuts. You just need to understand them first.

Philosophers are not nuts. People just can't accept them and say they're crazy.

My friends think that they are. I mean, I heard that they measured the room to see if an elephants present, when clearly there is none in the immediate vicinity.

Do you think they are? Are they as wise as people say they are?

lmao i think whoever said that first is crazy.
