So I downloaded the new version of iTunes and its pretty awesome. I just plugged my ipod mini into it for the first time and it said theres an update for it, so I downloaded it. And now its telling me to finish the update I need to plug it into an external plug ( a wall socket ) and I can't listen to my music now on it. I don't even remember getting a plug for the ipod to plug it into walls.

Is there anyway to bypass this and screw the download?

Er... Yeah, that sounds wierd. why would you need to plug it in to a wall socket? And how would that finish the update?

Could you show a screen of this message, because if by ipod mini you mean nano, I know what to do. :)

No by ipod mini i mean an ipod mini, not a nano. Pretty much now when I look at my screen it's a picture of a socket and a plug.

That just means make sure it is plugged in, I believe. Call gay Apple up. Most likely you can plug it in, and try it again, and it will one day go away.

Well I looked all over apple for a solution, can't find any answers. It says I need the wall adapter but my mini didn't come with one, so I'm ----ing screwed I guess.

Well, you can restore your ipod to factory condition. Thats what I do whenever I get errors im too lazy to find on support. Just go to file > all programs > ipod > ipod updates (top one) > then just go to restore
you should have all ur songs still on itunes just not on your ipod. Then when it tells you to upgrade your ipod, just say later or w/e

    Hope this helps!

ipods are always faulty, i suggest you just go complain to an apple store and get it replaced, then its not your responsibilty to waste time trying to fix it. :D

a similar, if not same, problem happened to me. i was trying to get an update for my ipod and it screwed it up. I looked endlessly for a solution to no avail, so I had to resort to restoring it back to its factory/original state. Super_supra mentioned above how to do this, but if I recall correctly, it is also mentioned in your iPod manual.

However, just for prior notice, you will lose all the songs you have on your iPod, so I hope you have a backup of your songs somewhere, or find some way to do it.

Hope I helped; unless you can find a solution, you'll probably need to restore the iPod to its original state.

Yeah I tried to restore thing, but it says my ipod service is invalid so it won't let me restore it.

Hopefully a friend at school has one of these plugs, I'll ask around. Thanks for all the help.
