    Hey all,
As you might know, I have a few temperature issue's with me E6400. Today I came on the lavalys site and saw they released a new everest with C2D Support. I quickly downloaded the new version and checked the temperatures. I have EIST enabled, so temps are normal a little higher, this is idle:

How the hell can the cores be 40C and CPU 24? Seems like a bad contact bitween the cores and IHS ?

ok, I think that when it is taking temps from the core, it should be around 40, and when it takes the temp of the cpu, it think it's taking a temp of the surface heat. Of course the core is hotter than the surface..

So when I overclock and reach +100 C stressed on the core's nothing is wrong ? Man 100C is boiling water :S
I'd like to know what xelink thinks about this, his 3ghz e6400 doesnt reach above 60C tat....

    25C idle seems pretty ok...

Yes it does, and most E6400's also clock well. It's a very nice CPU but there are alot of people with temperature problems. the IHS doesn't seem to be streight on all CPU's, normally you would say just fil it up with thermal grease but it doesn't seen to work. Tell me when you got it and report your idle and stressed temps to me, according to your motherboards tool, tat (intel thermal analyse tool) and Core Temp, if possible.

    Got 10K Aquamark, 4k CPU Score on 3DMark05 and 1.8K on 3DMark06.

I'd try to keep it below 60C as 100C is way to hot.

100c? Are you on CRACK? You'd need phaze cooling if you plan on having that hot on fans.

The core's 1 and 2 are DIFFERENT then the CPU Temp.

They say on the everest site, that the CPU should be under 60C and the cores can go up to 100C. Read my first post.

And the max temp of ''CPU'' is http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9S9

    61.4 Degrees. Celsius.

i tested at 3.066GHz with stock intel cooler at 1.28V(.045V subtracted due to the vDroop phenominon)

i idled at 45Cish a la core temp and loaded at 60-65ish i beleive.
    scythe infinity loads at 50C
these are at ambients of arround 22C

when i leave the system off overnight, I idle 19-22C and load 38-42(ambient is like 15C)

still holding my bad CPU theory though. think about it, they make millions of these, there is a possibility that the IHS was f'ed and that it isn't even making good contact with the core. RMA.

    EDIT:

for the record external temp doesn't really matter for shid, it's the cores temp you want to worry about. for all i care my IHS could be 1,000,000 degrees as long as everything else was cool i would not care.

I've already asked if it is possible to RMA because of that, because if I dont tell them anything, they'll send it back sayin' it works. They haven't replied back, yet. They all say get a better hs. And when I RMA I'll have no PC 'till I get it back and I've got no money for a celeron.
