I play in counter strike source and my fps drops from the average of 90 fps to 20 and stays around 20 until I restart my computer. Im thinking that its my divers. Should I just get the regular nvidia drivers they have out right now? BTW I have a 6800 GS
I have the same graphics card. Probably update your drivers. How long before the fps goes to 20? Is it sudden or gradual> It also might have to do with a lot of background processes.
Its not when I turn my computer on or anything it just happens at random times. Such as for the past few days it hasnt been doing it until just today. Also I forgot to say in my headphones when it happens there is a very slight hum. Lets just say its so slight you wouldnt hear it unless you were listening for it.
Get the omega drivers. Much better than any stock version that has ever been released. Go to Omega Drivers to grab 'em.
I installed the nvidia drivers and then restarted my computer but once my computer rebooted my screen went black and couldnt see anything. I had to reset my computer back 2 days. Do I have to uninstall any drivers before I install drivers?
Yes! Unless you get the Omega drivers I mentioned above. They will automatically re-write the old ones.
No, you dont have to uninstall previous drivers. The only reason i can see your screen going black is if you chose the wrong drivers :S Merged Post: No, you dont have to uninstall previous drivers. The only reason i can see your screen going black is if you chose the wrong drivers :S
maybe overheats at times? cause i know this kinda happened to my friend and his fan on the card was getting all messed and stuff so he needed to buy a new one.
Sounds silly, BUT, have you blown out the fans inside the case lately, including the graphics card fan? Heat and dust kill a PC
