which reminds me I bought the anne rice vampire series books 1-4 my b-day present to myself, goona read em while I take a ---- lol I find that the only time I have to myself anymore Merged Post: k let's take everything the ps3 has and xbox 360 has. overall performance, ps3 wins, graphics again ps3 wins, overall teraflops xbox360: 1.0 ps3: 2.18 (information found here: games.techwhack.com/129/28050509-xbox-360-vs-ps3/) I like sony cause they have taken care of me. when my xbox overheated when it got past warrantee mind you it had only been on for hour and a half, xbox didn't do crap for me, but when my lens got displaced and eventually broken in my ps2 (which was my fault and they knew that when I explained it) they only made me pay shipping and handling to send it to them to have them fix that and another little problem that they actually called and told me my ps2 had and shipped it back with another written 90 day garauntee. with that being said, that doesn't mean i didn't buy an xbox360 after once again they had major defects in it. which all consoles will have it's apart of the next generation of console's progression. so I am still gonna buy ps3 cause it will have more features to offer than the xbox 360 has but I own xbox 360 cause I can't give up muh GRAW man I just can't.
Well, look at the NeoGeo CD, that was real advanced for it's time and it failed horribly,because of the $500 price tag,the $100 games and the loading time. The ps3 might look nice, but if it fails to deliver, then theres going to be alot of people feeling stupid for wasting $600 on a console just because it looked pretty,lol. But this is just what I think. I'm not saying "don't get a ps3" but, I would advise people who are planning to get it to wait a while for reviews of it,and see if theres going to be any solutions to possible problems.
well you have to also look at what sony is trying to do with the ps3, one the representative said at E3 2005 and again at E3 2006 that sony ps3 is not just a gaming console it is also being primpt for being the next need to have at home theater/entertainment system. witht eh price of 600 bucks, I can't get a computer that can perform as well as this console for under 1100 bucks and that's even if I make it myself. the game will be the same price as the xbox games. xbox is cool and all but that's all it will ever be, sony is taking consoles to the next level and they proved that at e3 twice lol. in e3 2005 and I quote this from the xbox 360 representative issued for e3 2005 in an interview with ign reporters "with what they are doing (sony), the xbox 360 will barely have half the performance the ps3 is going to put out" I ---- you not this is an interview done by ign for e3 and it is in a video posted on ign right after e3 2005 and you can listen to him say it himself. it's all a matter of taste but why is it that sony has taken the world of console gaming by storm for the past um let's see decade, and why is it that sony can afford to take such good care of their customers? Cause ppl who see the dependancy of a company stick with that company. and if your going to bitch about price. get a job. get some credit, and with the ps3 as xbox repesentative said "twice what the xbox is" is 600 bucks compared to 400 bucks all that much? ---- I make that in two days. I believe when ps3 comes out and the network of ps3 is launched this so called 10million more guesstimated sales in the next year for xbox 360 will drop to 2 million. but hey this is only my opinion and being from guy who's obsession is gaming, guitars, and vagina; i'd say even though the ps3 isn't to launch til november, they've got my 600 bucks and it's too late they have had my loyalty over every other console since '99.
PS3s have this small issue to them though... its called a proprietory media format which only has about a 50% chance of suceeding, actually a few - overheating issues yeild issues on CPU and GPU lack of a developer kit lack of an OS. right now there are dozens of developers withdrawing support for the PS3. http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.p...875&postcount=1 ohh and the PS3 costs about 50% more than the 360 and 100% than the Wii and Sony didn't patent that gyroscope technology, i know for a matter of fact that pelican had a similar concept in the 90s. http://youtube.com/watch?v=5cOBtMMWteA unless sony does something soon i will not even consider their console. ======= also when they said the PS3 would have about double the performance of the xbox 360 it assumed several things - x360 would be slower than it is(guesse what it isn't) Cell would have 8 cores enabled(it only has 7) Cell would have a higher core clock(it doesn't) Cell would have a significantly higher IPC(it doesn't) programers wouldcode at 100% efficiency and utilize each of Cells Cores(lets put it this way, on PCs programmers can't even program for 2 cores all that well as of this moment and the xbox 360's isn't even being entirely used yet) RSX wouldn't be downgraded by about 10% in the realworld, we'lll be seeing similar performance out of the xbox 360 and the PS3, the ps3 will certainely be more powerfull that is a fact, but not nearly to the point which sony had hoped for. yes, but you could upgrade a two year old one and have it use a GFX card which greatly exceeds that of a PS3s RSX(GeForce 8800GTS) and have a lot more storage space
