    Hi,

I'm having a ----ty 256 mb pc now, and i know im going to buy a pc next summer (before the summer), but i was wondering, could i buy a extra 256 mb ram for the time being to put in this pc too, and then use it together on that pc with a 2 x 1 gb ram?

if they are the same speed (800mhz), type (ddr, ddr2), and you have 4 ports on your new system.

but 2 x 256mb and 2 x 1gb will not speed up your computer, it would rather slow it down. xelink!

Ok thanks, but like when you put a 1 gb and a 2 gb it would really be 3 gb?

Yes but that also wouldn't be smart I think, just get a stick of 256 ram of what you have now and keep it in there. Then when you buy new ram (probably ddr2) only the new ram will fit into the mobo.
