Ive had a think about it and I have decided that the best way of:

    1. Finding members who actually want to do the job of becoming moderator at GR

    2. Getting people to actually know we're fairly considering everyone

    3. Allowing us to see the reasons why people want to become a moderator/render expert/whatever

..... is to just allow "applications". Yes, there are probably going to be a bucketload of members that would want to become one, but if we have a fair idea of the types of people that would be accepted in the first place, then it should be ok.

The way this is going to work is to use the moderator que system, so people can send all their applications into the same forum so they can be reviewed, while respecting people's privacy (nobody else can see the applications except from us).

I have also made it so that this forum is completely hidden to anyone who isnt active, and who hasnt made 100 posts (prevents "newbies" applying)

Ive seen this work at a lot of other sites, and it usually seems to work fairly well. Lets just hope it works out the same way here.

You can view all the applicants here:

    http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...DE=fchoice&f=39

Here are some of the best applicants in my opinion:

bratzer - He was one of the original candidates that we discussed. He seems quite helpful, and sometimes posts a couple of nice looking tutorials. Has a +39 reputation
    Previous posts: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

Flamesy - Seems like a good guy too. Has been around GR for a fairly long time and quite active. Good clean reputation and made a very good application.
    Previous posts: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

Evangelos - very active member. Participates a lot at commenting in Your Stuff and does a good job at it. Clean reputation, and application was good.

    bratzer for sure
not familiar with flamesy or evangelos, apart from that they've been around awhile, keepin a low profile.

would be nice if GWIA (or another premium renderer of his standard and rep) would be mod to could take care of both Renders secctions since he's like THE model renderer.

GWIA is probably "the" best renderer but im not 100% convinced that he is interested in becoming part of the staff. If he was then I would defenetly put him on the list.

    More candidates:

Savage - Formally known as Adult i think. He's quite good with renders, though some of his previous posts are a bit questionable: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

Doubletap - Not seen any renders from him, but he participates in battles quite a lot (used to be flooded with battle stat requests from him). Possibly a good battle arena moderator? Previous posts: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

Garrett - Good application. Ive seen him contribute some good posts, and unlike some members his average word count per post is probably a couple of lines. Unknown render capability though Previous posts: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

flipske - Not the best application or renders, but he's a fairly good poster and seems mature enough. I think he was a candidate that was discussed before. Previous posts: http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...sult_type=posts

If anyone else has more suggestions then feel free to post them here.

yes, savage reported some rips and other irregularities.

GWIA has got my vote for sure. he's a serious, no BS man.

flipske was put up during the MSN discussion.
he's got a solid interest in GR with the Flag shop (bit inactive now, had a lil accident with 3stitches in the head and a nice headache to match)
