my computer is being very retarted. it will freeze suddenly or restart. I know that its a hardware problem, but I dont know what. i know this because ive reformatted at least 5 times and it still restarts and freezes. please, someone hlep me fix this problem.
Does the BIOS load? If so, access it (usually by pressing [Del]) and restore defaults. Try unplugging external peripherals etc. Oh and some shop-bought pcs (ie dell, hp etc) have hardware testers that you can access before the OS loads.

(Sorry about the double post - too many people on GR so the database froze) The BIOS is the part that loads before the operating system. When you turn your computer on, do you get anything? ie, white text on a black background? If you do then it will usually say something like "Press Del to enter BIOS/Setup". Press the key that it tells you to press and if it loads then try and find something that says 'restore defaults'. Each BIOS setup is unique so I can't say exactly what it is. Also, have you tried an assisted boot from a CD/floppy? That might solve the problem, but again, you might have to enter your BIOS and set your CD-drive as the primary boot device.
well i have a HP pc, and when i press escape on the black screen, al it comes to is the "boot from...." screen. so i dunno
