just go to http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and test iti think uy have to fill out what city and connection u have (DSL, DIAL, CABLE)
If you notice on the advertisement it says"up to 3Mb". Your connection speed all depends on how far away from the phone companies central office. Cut off is usually 16000-18000 feet. Any farther than that and you will have to look into cable modem or satellite based broadband. If you call your ISP they should be able to tell you how far from the CO"central office" you are. If you are close to the limit "See above" then you should probably look into other options. If that is your only option, it could be worse "56K" . Hope this helps.
