Alright so with meh new laptop I just got firefox, and when I try to view MOST videos online, it tells me im missing a plugin, but FF cant detect which one it is, Ive got shockwave, flash, and im pretty sure I got like Windows Media Player 11? Im not sure if Ive got the FF Plugin tho, when I went to the FF Video Plugin page, it wanted me to download WMP 11, so i did.. but I still cant view most videos and it pisses me off :censored:
lol i no dude, ive been a FFer for years now, ive downalded any plugin I could find, but FF is still telling me i dont have the right one
Search Plug-ins on google and it gives you different sites theres one that gives you all the plug-ins you need, not sure what the site is though, something you'd have to look at.
i had problems with the quicktime plugin.. i had to manually install it... go to quicktime.com download it and install it then associate it with firefox, word.
nah its not quicktime, Im pretty sure the only videos I cant play are the ones that run on windoes media player, becuase i THINK its all on V10 and im on V11, Im just not positive.. I know my quicktime one works..
It's probally that stupid Media Codec thing that i had <_< ....I still have the problem though so...Just a case of finding the right plug-in, google is probally easiest way like i said
maybe try redownloading an older version of firefox then updating it, also download the new version of direct x, flash, ect. The one question is how can you be having trouble with v11, i myself have been using v11 since the day it came out and havent had any trouble viewing videos online. So i dont thinks its that, its most likely something else.
Hmm.. I dont want to dowload an odler version of FF,cause than i gotta uninstall, and I loose all my favorites and saved ish.
i remember i had to like go into firefox and edit some crap to make it work for windows media player..... i cant remember where the site was that tells you how to do it though
you can still save your favourites buy just putting bookmarks.html into a diff folder then importing it.
Maybe you can't play media player because you are missing some .dll file for Media player to work with FF. I had the same problem awhile ago and after i downloaded the .dll file, it works fine for me. Code: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206216 MOre detail is here, hope it helps.
