Weekly E-mag?

Most of my email is crap junk mail that I never read, but I was thinking about possibly doing one for GR? That would be kinda cool like give the latest photoshop tips and updates about GR, maby announce the winner of the SOTW and such. Maby some big group battles like AG vs AM? Idk just an idea to throw out there...I have alot of time so if any of the mods is interested I guess PM me or post permission if you think this is a good idea .

 

I like this idea. There would be a staff of 'Zine writers and all.

 

Not even that, maby just a meeting or 2 on IRC or something and discuss what will be apropriate to put in and not, get it approved by a mod then they can send it either as a mass email or people could sign up or something .

 

No make something in Photoshop like a real zine. DO IT lol.

 

I would but I just want to wait for a mod to say yes or no...like GR to much to get in trouble lol.

 

We've had people do pretty much the same thing. They made a website with a newspaper template and they would update it with content about the website and included a few tutorials and PSDs to "subscribers." I remember two being made, neither really took off at all.

 

But do I have permission to do it? If so I would definatly like to set one up.

 

You can do it if you want, but I dont forsee it being mailed out to the users via email. And you arent really supposed to create a site outside of GR either. However, if you want to make a post or whatever each week, you can do that if you want.

 

That I will do, I guess PM me if you would like to start this, once I get 5 we will make an issue every fort night *ive always wanted to use that word*. Maby I could pm a mod to get it pinned in the off topic section .

 

Even though you got the go ahead, i think it might turn out good, depending on how many Gamerender's will go on it, good luck also with this. ^_^

 

like already said, its been done before, tried twice to my recognition, its starts off alrite, than the staff start falling out or they just can't be bothered anymore. Thats the trouble. You need some of the older members of Gamerenders i think, the ones that have been here along time and know alot about whats going on around the site. Without one of them i wouldnt even attempt it. You also need a good designer and someone with creds that will be willing to donate. Just a couple of tips, gd luck with

1.) Yes apex I realize this and I can design I just don't like doing it without perameters, I guess this means I have no imagination .

2.) I do not really need older members and I doubt anyone will do this with me, I will give it a week before I start on my own.

 

I'd help and maybe will in a few weeks, but life is kinda' tight for me right now and don't exatly have alot of time, good luck mate.

 

This has been tried plenty of times (GRTIMES.com GRDisscussion.com and that one news paper we had a while back..)

None were all that sucsesful, if you prodiced a newletter like thing, I dont think it would be so popular, but maybe more of a website ring, where they can go, like a GR Sister New site, LIKE GRTIMES and what not.

 

Roffle my waffles, I am not making a website, it is more like a magazine? To put it in perspective...a tutorial sort of but wider, shorter, and news?
