    Hey,

I recently constructed a new computer for myself and it works great, however there is one thing I can't stand.

Whenever I try to create or open a file in Photoshop it locks up. No errors or anything just totally freezes. I've checked Google and can't find anything to address this problem.

I have a guess though that it has to do with a Dual Core processor. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. Here are the specs of my new machine:

AMD Athlon 64 4200+ Dual Core
    500watt Power Supply
    EVGA 7600GT 256MB PCI-E
    1 Terrabyte on SataII connections

    Thanks in advance.

weird problem, i doubt its because of dual core. i have x2 3800+, and that's never happened to me before. have you tried re-installing?

I've tried re-installing a few times and no luck :(

    I guess I'll try again.

Do you have the AMD Dual core driver? If not you can get it from here. Also try the dual core optimizer from here

If all the things you've tried have failed. Just backup your drives and reinstall windows.

If your willing to do it.
