    is there a way I can find out how many watts my psu is? I was thinking of getting a new gfx card for my old dell, but the requirements say I need 300 watts or higher. dell 4600 about 3 years old.

    Open up the case and look at it, thats pretty much the only way

    don't ---- with that.

    find out the recomended amperage on the 12V rail is and check that with the cards 12V amperage, rating solely by watts si ahorrible misomer.

    Yea, just open your case and look at it :) It usually says how much Watts :)
