I'm working on a Graphic novel that i plan on getting published later and I want it to be politically and scientifically possible/correct as possible. Anyway In order to archive this i need to know somethings about How An imbalance in the Moons place or how if the moon gets damaged ;How does it effect our Ocean and why does it this ? Any links or explanation would be helpful. And please stay on Topic ( its sad i even have to say that <_< )
come on sombody gotsta know something or somewebsite. Maby If i said 100 Credits to the most helpfull person on this subject....
If there were no moon, we would have no tides. The tides arise due to the pull of the moon's gravity. On the side of Earth nearest the moon, the moon's gravity is the strongest and it pulls up the water slightly (high tide). On the side of Earth furthest from the moon, the moon's gravity is the weakest and the water can move a little away from the moon (which is also high tide). This also affects Earth itself. During high tide Earth rises by an inch or two, not enough for us to notice. Also, considering that at the current rate, the moon drifts away from the Earth's gravity at about one inch per year, we'd be able to have a sure fire answer to your question if we wait about 5 or 6 million years
I get 100 credits. I win http://www.astrosociety.org/education/publ...l/33/moon3.html http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/question.php?number=336 http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/question.php?number=104
if the moon gets off balance as it does a foot a year it will eventually cause the earth to get off balace and cause the earth to teter-toter throwing the climates everywhere. I dont how it is connected to the oceans though. IGNORE ALREADY SAID
I win I got more informative links http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:aOlv7VY...us&ct=clnk&cd=2 http://skepdic.com/astrolgy.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story...5006051,00.html http://www.nasca.org.uk/Astrology/astrology.html
Moon's gravitational force causes the tides Moon casts light at night that is reflected by the sun Moon is damaged by no atmosphere which doesn't break up meteorites/comets that crash into it (causing huge craters)
well when i was learning about this in school i found these sites a good help due to the pictures and easy explanation http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moontides/ http://www.astrosociety.org/education/publ.../tnl/33/33.html
