The problem does not come from Gr, it did change for some reason. If it didn't be more strict, we will have threads full of pointless comments like the one I quoted. I mean, there is a line, and we walked in its edge for a long time. We abused the rules as much as we could, didn't we? I think some pepole did. The rep sistem was very, and still is, very very abused. It chaged in a good way in my opinion. Especially with the rule 'You get fined and/or suspended if you post inappropriate theads in this section'. Oh and to proove my point, we abused the rep sistem so much that they had to create a 'Remove your supid -rep here' forum. And guess what, it sees a lot of activity. Oh and in some pepole are very competitive. The whole 'I am pro' thing causes a lot of discussion. Pepole tend to disagree with eachother, and sometimes their reactions get... Out of hand. So we do infulence how the rules are around here. If it wasn't for some rules, this would be a worse palce. What else? Right, gr has a lot of members. A lot of members are hard to keep a track on. So stupid topics have to be locked, or else think about it! If you don't like the rules question yourself how would it be without them. I support Gr being strict, but it should be less strict and more strict in different forums I think. The renders forum has a lot of spam and the sigs one has some strange topics, but I think its good as it is.

I agree, and I never said that the mods were corrupt, just that the semi-monopolization of internet graphics communities may have lead to this increased ruliness.

Please explain what Changed"!?!?! means before you berate me for making meaningless posts :)

Well, you obviously can, but it depends how do you say it. Don't be rude. No one want to hear a 'This sucks' and end of comment. Instead try saying 'Well, I don't like it, I think you may want to work on it a bit. You did the ~ wrong. Try to do it like this and that'... Ect. You don't want to make comments like 'OMG this sucks dude go practice and read some tuts' because not only it's very rude, but it doesn't help him at all. Comment on how bad it is on a contructive way, or don't bother commenting at all.

i joined way the hell back when too............but when the site expands (by about 96,000+ members) stricter rules must be put in place .

I would say that it's changed a lot, but in all fairness my visits here are now few and far between. I will say, however, that I haven't personally noticed anything "stricter" as far as free speech and expression goes. Of course, profanity and racism and all that were never allowed, but I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say that you're restricted.

As far as the moderators abusing their powers, this will not have been the first time.

It's more uptight, due to more members.
and the new members coming in are ----tards.
Now if one of them say members are ----tards, that doesnt work. I can only say it cuz I'm Diablo,.

sad thing is that ive been around since the 900-1000 member range :D this is my second account here and i just didnt post alot... for good reason :D lol

I generally say what I want to now though, being banned from GR is basically the least of my worries, and I have mad sex with almost all the mods, so yeah...

the mods have total control of everything and anything about the site.

    Quote:

Yes, things have changed around here but that can't be helped. There will always be people who will ruin things for others, immature people, flamers, ect. The moderators of this forum can't just let it go free and have people posting whatever they want, where ever they want. I understand that there has to be a point too draw the line but I don't think this forum has got to that point yet.

herokeeper, what is it that you think you can't post?

I can remember helping other members with homework, graphic related and not. I have seen numerous topics started from members asking for help with family issues and personal.

We have a general forum for serious and some not so serious topics that rarely get closed. If they are closed it's usually due to mulitple topics or it's one of those topics that is just going to get yes or no answers. I can't say I have come across a topic that was incorrectly closed for a long time except maybe for topics like this one, or topics putting down other mods for the job they have asked to do.

We also have a Off Topic forum for all the other random topics that are going to just get spammed. I have seen more than enough topics that are just random thoughs or expressions or jokes or pictures and on and on...but they are not closed.

So, I'm not really sure what the problem is?

its like a country.......start off free but with more people coming creates chaos and with chaos you need a set of rules to control it :)
