For my graduation present my Uncle has told me he will buy me a laptop. I have a $3,500 budget on it. I was thinking about getting a Mac. I am going to be going to college and will major in Graphic Communication Management. I always heard that Mac's were good for graphics and mutlimedia, and I know I will use Mac's alot in my classes. So a Mac is a good idea for that reason. Or I could get a Windows Laptop. I have always had Windows, so I am used to it. I have always used PS with Graphics, and haven't had a problem, so I don't know how Mac's are superior. And I am a big gamer, so PC gets the edge there. I will probably get a PC, unless something big happens to make me want a Mac. So now I have to decide what I want with my Laptop. I don't really know where to look. I looked at Newegg, Tiger Direct and Alienware. I know Alienware is high quality, but at a high price. But any tips for places to get them or must have accessories, or must have items for when customizing it would be greatly appreciated.
well if your budget is $ 3,500 I'd focus on getting an excellent video card and upgrading the ram also I don't know other places to get laptops but newegg, alienware, and dell are probably good places to get one. and if your a gamer then I'd go for a pc
have both! Get an Ibook, the latest schnitz, and get boot camp, you can run your XP on a seperate partition, and still play your games
well you could build your own laptop and save a bunch of $$ and have it with the Stuff That you Want Merged Post: well you could build your own laptop and save a bunch of $$ and have it with the Stuff That you Want
I'd say get both, a laptop and desktop, not macs stuff... For $3500 you can have a very good PC and laptop. I'd really consider it if i were you.
Don\'t be rediculous. Buying a $1600+ laptop is just pointless. By a laptop for like $1500, with Core 2 Duo, a deticated video, 2 GB of ram, and whatever size of a HD you need. An Acer would probably be fine. Ill elaborate later after school.
if you use bootcamp, it is essentially running windows. again, with computers you get diminishing returns after a point. a 1500$ laptop will last you jsut as long as a 5000$ laptop. you'de be better off putting that money towards another laptop in a few years, or building a dedicated gaming desktop which would be cheaper/better by far
