I remember when I first joined GR (this is a new account, so dont say "You just joined a year ago."), I could post anything I wanted, I could ask questions, I could ask for psychological help, ask people to help me with my homework, anything. Now there are multiple moderators (not saying all...but...) that i think abuse their privlege of having a "close", "delete", and whatever else they have button. You have to follow strict guidlines otherwise you will get flamed, suspended,or even banned. In my opinion..this place is no longer fun to be a part of. I dont stay actice very much anymore...so I have been thinking about just giving my account to some random person. It isnt worth crap, but what the hell.

This isnt about my account though. I would like to hear other people's opinions about this place? Same? Changed? In a good way? Bad way? What do you think?

Rules weren't bent. We had to fix that.

Everything is bound to get more strict on a forum full of teenagers. Members will try to find their way around every little detail, thus us having to create more rules.

Yes, things have changed around here but that can't be helped. There will always be people who will ruin things for others, immature people, flamers, ect. The moderators of this forum can't just let it go free and have people posting whatever they want, where ever they want. I understand that there has to be a point too draw the line but I don't think this forum has got to that point yet.

herokeeper, what is it that you think you can't post?

I can remember helping other members with homework, graphic related and not. I have seen numerous topics started from members asking for help with family issues and personal.

We have a general forum for serious and some not so serious topics that rarely get closed. If they are closed it's usually due to mulitple topics or it's one of those topics that is just going to get yes or no answers. I can't say I have come across a topic that was incorrectly closed for a long time except maybe for topics like this one, or topics putting down other mods for the job they have asked to do.

We also have a Off Topic forum for all the other random topics that are going to just get spammed. I have seen more than enough topics that are just random thoughs or expressions or jokes or pictures and on and on...but they are not closed.

So, I'm not really sure what the problem is?

You know it's bad when the Staff controls how much ad you can have in your sig.

im sorry, but thats almost the dumbest rule i've ever heard.
and there are a couple more i cant think of but oh well.

the staff does what they want, and I guess we have to fall in line

When you have a site that gets so many hits and members register on the forum and post a lot just to get their site more views, it's the smartest rule.

The better term is "renovation". GR is now better than before where people don't just randomly drop a pointless topic or flame others with little punishment ensued. Now, I actually feel safe expressing my idealist opinions without getting -repped and flamed at the same time.

This change is for the better.

See, I personally agree with HK In the fact that all this...and GR is getting worse. I mean, certain other things aren't helping and it's still a great site etc etc. But old GR > New GR.

There was less flaming and spamming, there was none of this "PRO TAG" crap and because of the small amount of mods who were always very active, the site was fairly safe too, and we all could talk to the mods more then at the moment.

in the begining, there were less people on the forum, and it was much easier to control, now there are more people, which makes everything harder to control, and so, they have to make more rules.
