Haha, you seem really bothered by this.
You lead a sad life if you are counting other peoples reps and making threads complaining about it.

    Get a new hobby, mate.
Stop crying over people being nice.

It makes no sense at all.

the blingband isnt exactly the same thing, but you are still manipulating people by giving a limited offer of 10 places, so as to make the item appear more valuble. you getting 2 reps from it is not so bad, but 2 out of 5 people giving you reps in the same 25minute period is kind of extreme imo.

also, the "blingbands" dont really fall into the same catagory as the psds. there is a section ONLY FOR PSDS, not one for "blingbands"

    im glad you agree.

and .xyz, i dont want to start this into a flame thread, but i wouldnt be one to talk about getting a life. if you compare my post count and join date with yours, you will see that i spend much less time here than you. i am not "crying" about you being nice. i am complaining about you trying to act nice for the sole purpose of gaining more reputation

I have to agree and disagree with you guys.

Giving something away to only 10 people does not make it seem more valuble in my opinion, alot of people have been doing this for a VERY long time and i dont see it stopping now, same with psd's.

I agree about the psd's that are being given away to anyone that wants them, then yes they should go in resources and/or in the premium/donator sections.

I dont have a problem with people doing this, its just a post you can either look at or not look at, it doesnt really matter. If you dont like it just ignore the post, you dont have to go on about it.

I dont think there should be a rule on this because they are offering something of their own to others, which is very nice of them to do so. :)

i tend to agree with this, rep i think is nothing that'll boost someone's way to respect someone

selling tags ok, but the resources section is best for free PSDs it removed the clutter of give aways for actuall auctions

lets go back to normal now :P

Well now that ive tought about it. The resource section is made for free stuff. So yea. I think free PSD should go there no matter how long your giving it away.

If everyone posted there free psd in the o\r section then we couldnt find the good topics.

Its like the PAID tut section. So yea, Sry if I posted befoer without thinking this threw.

you dont seem to understand the point of this thread. this isnt about people giving it out for free, its about people giving it out in the wrong section(and the method in which they do it), and thereby gaining more rep than they normaly would.

i've also noticed that the only people who are against my idea currently have active threads of this sort.

It seems you're accusing people of using 'reverse psychology' to obtain reputation. IE: They don't ask for it, and gain it because they're humble.

    How does one gain reputation?

    -Being an incerdible artist/renderer/coder/etc...
    -Being a nice person

I don't see why getting repped for being nice is such a problem. Or is it some law of averages you're using, stating that you have a greater chance of being positively repped if you post in one place instead of another.

Besides, I was repped a lot in the past month (none of which I asked for) because I did a cred giveaway due to me having something happen in my personal life which was great, so I decided to share the wealth.

The next day, 13 of my reps were removed, and I wasn't notified as of why until I e-mailed a Mod and found out for myself.

Long story short, if you're doing something to gain rep that goes against the rules in any way (in my case I never asked for anything in return, gave out creds, and closed the thread when the giveaways were done) they'll know and they'll adjust your rep to suit it.
