I just bought counter strike source yesterday and installed it the same day. After creating an account and goofy steam, I come to find out I have to pay another $20?? Is that right? Come on, I just paid $30 for the game already, now I have to dish out an extra $20.. :censored:
Huh? To buy Counter Strike: Source again? Just enter the CD key into steam and won't it credit your account with CS:S?
I've bought MANY games off steam...never had to pay twice for CSS or any other game...are you sure your doing it right?
Just install the CD with the key. Create a steam account, or enter your information for an already existing steam account, and it will drop HL2 and CSS into that account. Its possible that your CD key has already been used from someone using a random key gen, or some 1 went to the same store and took a pic of the key. Best bet would be to return it and get another copy and try again.
Now im glad i bought mine from EB games where it's never been open and they have the cd keys and such removed, Wal-Mart or whatever got it in the next day after i bought mine fore 49.95 but it was silver so it had like alot of other games as well : \ but i never had to pay twice or anything... you just install it it will give you the option create account or use pre existing account and then you just hit whichever and enter the cd key and all the junk and just install counterstrike right off steam
Its easier to buy over steam anyway. Most of the time its cheaper though. The problem is though you've got to put the CD in. Then on steam go to Activate game, then select CS:S and put in your key you got with the game. Then it should work. If not you should consult Steam about them being a bad service.
