Hi. I need a computer build of around $1500-$1600. Here are some requirements:

-Graphics Card: An inexpensive one that can last until DX10 arrives, along with a supposed Gforce 8's series
    -In general: Compatible for Vista/DX10
-For Photoshopping, hard core gaming, and some multitasking
-Please include recommendations for mice and sound system ($50 range please)

    Thanks! I'd appreciate it alot.

    Mouse is good.
    Speakers is good.
    Ram is good.
GFX card...I'd say wait it out and get a cheaper one.. What games will you be playing in the mean time till dx10?
As for HD, it might be nice to keep an eye out for local tech stores to see if they got nice deals.
    This PSU instead here
or if you dont plan on getting SLI and want to save 20 bucks this shoud work: here

Between now and when you buy, regularly check slickdeals.net. They just had a deal posted for a 19" Samsung flatscreen for $100. Those kind of deals come frequently (that current deal is now expired.)

If you are going to go with the corsair XMS series, you better be going with the gigabyte ds3. with the right ram, that thing can be a great OCer for a good price (good life, great price!)

processor, i'd go with what viper said.

    ram, same
vid card: i'd go x800gto or x850xt until g8o, but i'm not certain if current boards will be compatable with the g8o series (probably will be.)

hard drives: same as above, but go 2x on it.

case: seems good choice. i definally go with full tower, but i prefer this one:

for a solid 19" monitor, i'd go with this:

    for a nice widescreen:

    on the RAM-

I suggest some Team memory, the stuff is insane, excellent overclocker

1GHz on the RAM with that tight of timings... it's insane.

Micron D9GMH, not quite a fatbody(no longer produced) but the next best thing

also a good clocker, G. Skill HZ

here's something few people tend to remember though... conroe is more limited by the speed of the system bus than of the RAM, and 1:1 is optimal, the performance diference ebtween running on a 5:4 ratio and a 1:1 is almost negligeable, unless you're able to hit 3:2 it's pointless. Really you could probably ghet by with somewhat cheaper RAM. PAtriuot LLK won't win any records but it is 80$ cheaper and quite competative

didn't add it all up... i think it's around 1100$ that leaves 400-500 for a monitor and a GFX card upgrade in the future.

then on the GFX card if you have the x850XT PE(very comapreable to the 7900GS in terms of performance at 2/3rds the cost), you could probably get by for around 6-12 months before actually needing a card and by then prices will be down a lot as everything drops like a rock, could probaly(pure speculation) get an x2800 or 8800 for around $250

on the CPU, e6600 is great, but why not just ratchet the FSB up slightly higher and let extra memory bandwidth and bus speed make up for the l2 cache diference? i mean both chips will be obsolete at the same time so why pay almsot 50% more? also 6600s OC worse, they are the lowest Binned conroes VS. the 6400 which is the highest binned allendale.

i honestly don\'t know, but i would check the compatablity of the ds3 and the patriot llk ram before buying. i think i posted a review on the ds3 on newegg giving a link to compatable ram with it. i suggest checking it out.

    I dunno, do you?
john has a really good point, I know my ram would work because there was a reveiw posted on newegg about my patriot RAM being compadable with the DS3. But apparently that reason it worked was because it is low volt ram.

v reveiw of my current RAM v

I think that LLK RAM would end up working just fine acutally, worst case senario is you get the ram and is does not work with the baord. So you would just return if for a refund, no harm no foul.
