i got a good budget of $2000 i wanna turn a old HP in a gaming machine whats good out there i can get ?
Get a whole new custom PC, its better, but heres what I think is good: Intel 3.2GHz + around 2gb ram GeForce 7000+ Razer SOund Card 300 GB HD DVD-ROM DVD Burner 20+ inch screen =D good headphones/speakers and a good motherboard always helps thats what I think is good.. mines close.. but not THAT close =[
well GHz aren't every thing when it comes to procs anymore. Take the core 2 duo for example, it run as lower GHz but yet it still can run faster and handle a larger load than the pentium D's. Also, creative labs can't be touched when it comes to sound cards. So pull you head out of your ass and see the light. Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813128018 (149.99) Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819115003 (319.99) PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817194003 (109.99) RAM: http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-3338-p-1676.h...e969b3b21caefba (277.00) ^ you have to go 2 GB, and according to xelink this OC's very well ^ Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148144 (74.99)/ 2x(149.98) ^ you could alway go two for more storage if you wanted ^ Graphics Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102672 (349.99) ^ if you really want so go crazy crossfire would be an option as well ^ Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811156063 (79.99) Heat Sink/Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835185027 (51.99) ^ for OCing, but if you want to go all out you get water cooling ^ Well that come out to a little above $1400, so water cooling and an extra graphic card in cross fire mode will get you higher. But another option would be a new moniter/speakers/mouse ect. But a custom build is a way to go, seeing as how you have 2 grand to spend. There is really no point trying to make you HP better, just start over.
look at the thread like above this with a budget of 1500, take what i said there and swap the RAM to the team group(or perhaps G. SKill HZ), and up the PSU to a PC&P silencer 610 or greater model then get a top of the line card when DX10 cards arrive. the current cards wont' even be abel to play full fledged DX10 games as they are incompatable so no need to waste $$$
Don't Upgrade your comp lol get a new custom comp. turkishgold11's setup right here is EXCELLENT (thumbs up from me :shaggy: )
Oh I did end up forgetting something, and seeing as how you have a big enough budget to fit it in I think this it is something that you will definatly want to have. Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16829102188 (121.99) Well with that sound card in there that leaves you with about $500 if I am not mistaken. Moniter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824009087 (215.99) Mouse: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16826104191 (45.99) Speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16836121118 (59.99) Differant Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131025 (249.99) You can cut corners in some places to get everything you want, but I am just giveing you some suggestions.
I wish I have $2000 to get yet another comp.. thats what I want... Creative SC aint bad.. I just have horrible experience with creative thats why I dont like them =|
Umm, I wouldn't try to turn you're HP into a gaming machine, but I would build a PC from scratch. You shold start at www.TigerDirect.com
Yeah obvously you have not been here long, newegg offers better deals than tigerdirect ever could. Geez man get in the game!!!
onyl about 70-90% of the time... have as many sources as possible to choose from. in the end $$ are dollars.
Both tiger direct and new egg are good sites...Its just a matter of being a SMART SHOPPER. Look around, especially for any good deals . Don't just look at one, look at multiple sites, compare prices. etc.
