Ok here is the best thing ever. Muffins, Coffe, Soda, Hot Choclete W/ Marshmellows, Some sweets, Music, couches, and a table where u guys can eat...not cafeteria! EDIT: Wait I forgot the PIZZA!

My school's has like a Circle pattern, Couches around the outside, with tables in, Its a kinda orangish colour on the walls, Theres a Plasma screen TV up, and Speakers build into the roof so you get surround sound. I'd Get a pic if i could but... Maybe if you know how to, or can afford ready build material, Sound roof pexiglass that splits it up, and a differnt type of music in certain corners, so the music doesnt clash and u get Goths going agiesnt the chavs to get only their music on. If you ask your head, he should be able to add a section into the news letter, so parents and stuff can donate, that'd help your funding by alot.
A good thing to do is to redo an old classroom, that would be your best bet. A classroom close to the enterance and has an easy access. You need some couches and maybe a pool table, although it would cause people to fight. So scratch that. Try to have couches, some tables, and coffee. As for music, play chill music, very undertone, kind of starbucks types of music, that can be listened by any number of people. Have the cafe advertised on flyers, and in the morning announcements, and yes, you do have to pay for coffee, but not for enterence. As for food, try to keep it simple, to something easy cleanup / goes well with coffee. Goodluck, and I hope it turns out well for you. For funding, try to have a fundraiser. Go to local stores, etc. and give them your information and ideas. Say that you can advertise them quite largely at your school cafe. Try to good to teen hangouts / stores teens would go to, and tell them it would be a great advertisement and customer boost oppertunity.
our school had one madeit's like 1 side is a big que for hotfood and deserts other side is for cold things and sandwhcihes folows on into a second room with 1 or 2 good quality tvs a smaller tv for a ps2 and 2 or 3 couches thn normal chairs and tables to eat at
