Yes A God Damn Virus..

Ok after being a toal n00b as i am i dowloaded a so called beta of msn after realising not to scan it and opening it my pc went haywire i had no control over internet/control panel etc....
I rebooted scanned and deleted my spyware with spybot and viruses with avg.

Only the problem is....Everytime i opend IE it opens with a secuirty homepage and loads of anti virus pop ups...I have no computer or viruses showing up on my pc and software jsut IE plays up.

Any help really aprreciated.

 

Personally, I think IE sucks. Download FireFox, it works a lot better, faster, and blocks 99% of popups too.

all I can think of right now is go download a freetrial program like mcafee or something and try scanning.. AVG might have missed something, Im not sure because Ive never tried AVG..

Just a warning: dont download the antiviruses that pop up.. I tried it once and I got MORE viruses -.- and mind showing us the IE homepage? that might also help to the figuring out of why IE is messed up

EDIT: Firefox is indeed good.. I just like IE better...
EDIT2: What about adware? Did ya scan for adware? Its never really considered spyware or viruses.. but its annoying..

I use FF, but when I click a link in IE, it pops up lmao.

We remove it constantly but never works.

 

Yes bro WinAntiVirusPro2005 and other wierd stuff, but i know my pc isnt that bad. I just wish it could be sorted lol.
Constant soon as i open IE....

yea, and do you also get something about adult tracks?

and then norton will detect a virus occasionally but you remove it and it comes back right?

 

yes indeed a screenshot of it will be very helpful.. also is your wallpaper different? like is it blue or black, i forget but if it is then that means there's still spyware.. I had it before.. and everytime I open my dumb IE, I also ended up with a homepage warning me, I used xoftspy to get rid of it.....

Well, always make sure to exit out, not click cancel or OK.

A little different than mine, but the winantivirus one is the same.

 

Yep well i think its somthing to do with my upgraded xp i dont know.

This happened to me, download windows defender and goto the windows software explorer. Then goto startup programs, remove anything that you dont know what its from. Then restart your computer, that should fix it if you picked the right program and took it off the startup list. worked for me awhile ago.

 

This is what i suggest when you have the free time to clean your computer.

-Clear your System Restore cache
-Delete your internet cookies / cache
-Clear your rubbish bins

-Make sure your computer is in Safe mode before u do any scanning.
-Scan your computer with Bit Defender / Windows Defender
-If virus still pesists, scan it with Hjackthis and send me the log file.
-Check your Hosts file for invalid entries.
