I've had this problem recently with games I play online. Every 3 minutes (literally) the game will lag for about 20 seconds at a time. This isn't "stop" lag either (where the game just stops for a few moments), this is lag where I move, but it's like my ping just went crazy high, and movement is very sluggish. I have tryed numerous virus removal methods, clearing space, making memory, everything I know to do without re-formatting my pc.

Does anyone know what this lag is, and how I can fix it without re-formating or clearing my hardrive and reloading Windows?

    Thanks.

Do you have a router? Are all ports forwarded? Is your MTU set right? and reset your router.

see if others with your isp in the area have experienced that same problems because it might be your net.

My computer is clean as can be. I'm running a DSL connection, and yes I have routers. It happens to all of my games too, FPS and RPG, but only online.

Replacing my cards sounds like a valid idea, however the computer I'm running these games on is a Laptop, so they are ir-replacable.

I don't know if it matters any more anyway. In a few days, I'm getting a CyberPower PC. Tell me if you guys think they're descent.

I think you have a cooling problem. Try to find and buy a laptop cooler, that might help. Something like this might help NOTEBOOK CHILL PAD

Are you using a wireless router? That could be the problem.
