Whatever you want to believe, I don't like either testament. Your history of Muhammed was "Muhammed got kicked out of Mecca and came back with an army to destroy Mecca" Mine was "Muhammed got kicked out of Mecca and created his own Islamic community that was continuously attacked by Mecca for no reason, finally his community struck back and won" The difference is you described the situation made Muslims seem like demons, mine does not. I'm not saying the Muslims are innocent here, because no religion is innocent, but you can't demonize a certain religion using false facts and propaganda...that's what Hitler did :tongue:
How do you know your version isn't to make the blockedistian/Jews (which were the major religions of Mecca at the time) look worse? Or make the Muslims look better?...you don't.
Exactly, so dismissing my point of view, only because it disagrees with yours is what you are accusing me of, making you not only a hypocrit, but a jerk as well.
First off, can we plz keep this from becoming a religious flame fest? TY Now imo, we should learn about ALL the major religions, but not in specifics. For example, last year in World History we would breifly learn about the background of the religion that most influenced the area we were studying (blockedistianity in Europe, Islam in Middle East, Buddhism [spelling?] in India ect.), but it does need to stay out of say, biology... And I know this isn't proof, but my teacher (who is blockedistian) said that Muhammed (sry if I spelt that wrong) believed that Jesus and whoever the Jewish prophet is (really sorry im not very educated in religions ) were infact prophets of Allah, but that they strayed off-course. Doesn't sound like he was teaching to kill all blockedistians to me... Keep thinking theres something else I wanted to say, but I forgot it.
If he claims that Jesus was a prophet at all, then he is teaching the opposite of the Bible. Jesus was the son of God, not a prophet of Allah. According to the Bible, which is the book I believe, so go figure, eh?
So because he taught something opposite of the bible it's wrong? Just because you're a C.hritsian doesn't mean you need to believe everything in the bible, god gave you free thought too.
Ok look Rikku, I tried putting YOUR topic back on topic, but you insist on turning this into a question about what religion is right and all that. If you want to discuss this, than by all means make a new topic, but how bout at least trying to keep your own topic on topic?
Im goin to say this once and only once "You cant cure ignorance" and there are some peopel here that have strong symptoms of ignorance.
IF you don't know about a religion why critisize on it? Just keep away from your negative thoughts about ones religion and you're clean.
it looks like you made this topic for you to talk about the islamic religion. i don't think you made this topic to talk about separation, but to me, your ulterior motive was to talk about the islamic religion and the qur'an. why do i think that? you introduced the qur'an to the topic on your first reply to this topic. also, there is no evidence to back up that incident, so far all we know, it could've been made up. thirdly, you feel strongly about that religion. lastly, you won't go back onto the separation topic. it's not impossible that you made up that event just to start debating about said religion.
