I like alienware but they are real high. But I need a PC like is good for games like the sims 2 Under $900 pre-built - if I can get a Alienware I you be running The Sims 1 and 2, restaurant empire, Ages of empire 2 and 3
try ibuypower.com, you can select what or what not you need. cyberpowerpc.com has some computers for around 900, It's good enough for your gaming needs. prebuild will save you a bundle, tho. I just bought my new computer for $660, and it's almost the top of the line right now, with a AM2 3500
Alienware is not really good tbh, there cases are awesome, but thinking about the parts that are in the case you pay about 250 $ for the case.
Very true, most people don't realise what they are actually paying for! they see the case of alienwares and are like, wow its awsome cause the case has blue neons!
Honestly I don't know why you would buy a prebuilt compy when you could build a better running compy for like $300 less than what it would cost you to get a good prebuild. If you were to got prebuild thought, HP is the way to go IMO.

prior to their aquisition by Dell they were ratehr good in terms of quality and had an excellent warranty. Since dell bought them out prices are down slightly and the lifetime warranty is gone but I'm not sure about overall build quality. will say you're right though, as compared to building it yourself, buying an alienware system costs about 1.5-3times as much as do it yourself for the same performance. i'd take johns build and swap the PSU to the Enhance ENP-5150GH 500W PSU, it's of somewhat better quality and more of the load is distributed to the 12V rails... same base unit as the Silverstone ST50EF and it is cheaper too. http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=PS-E5150G...ea9cc771c8ad72# also the patriot LLK is 180$ it is rather good, I have it at 766mhz with 4-4-4-12timings on 2.0V(my motherboard has cold boot issues at higher FSB without higher volts, i can prime stable at 1.95V but ehh) also tested it to run 3-3-3-10 at 667 with 1.9V. I got mine with a 20$ mail in rebate though, not 100% sure if it is the absolute best buy now. probably is though, decent elpida ICs, it's no micron, but unless you're going past 430-450FSB that shoudln't be a huge deal. should you decide to build, you ill need to 'aquire' a copy of windows one way or the other, and I can try to link you to a video tutorial.
