Ok so i usually run maxed settings with my 1024X768 and get anywhere between 45-60FPS now here are my specs
    3000+ K7 AMD
    1024gb ram
    X700
    17in monitor.
Now i can run everythign else I play in 1280x1024 fine and no problems (ie guild wars and my desktop resolution) Now when I run CSS in 1280x1024 I get good fps still but the text is big and bolder looking. The main menu text is as small as it should be but the in game text like chat and kills are bold text and its really annoying. I want to run my game at this resolution. Is there any way I can do that without bolded text?

Maybe it is because of your graphic card. Graphic card issue?

its probably not supported by ur video card. not sure. if the text is all wierd looking, u should lower the res down to 1024 x 768. if it doesnt look good down it to 800 x 600 since u have a 17 in monitor. i have a 21 in. widescreen and i run everything on 1024 x 768

Usually that's an issue if you don't have your LCD monitor set up right.
