That is a X2 Dual Core, and I'll probably get water cooling next year when I want to overclock to over 3.0ghz.

Don\'t listen to Majiny, unfortunally he has a limited perspective of hardware.

The build is bad. Athlon 64 X2 4200+ is $187, the Core 2 Duo E\'6300 is $185. The E\'6300 is cheaper and it outpreforms by a threefold.

You have DDR-400 picked, DDR2-800 is much better and is the standard.

The x1600PRO isn\'t as good as the x1800XT. Although it has more vRAM, doesn\'t mean it has better preformance. vRAM doesn\'t mean as much past 128MB or 256MB.

Raptors are a waste of money (terrible bang/$). A few Seagate Barracudas 7200 RPM with PRM technology are a great buy (the 320GB ones are like $98, and offer good preformance.)

For your CPU cooler, I would go with the Scythe Infinity HS&F.
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185027). With that HS&F, you could easily hit 2.6Ghz with the E\'6300.

    Thanks for the help John.
I know about your religion, but my choice is the 4200.
Also, the x1600 is cheaper than the x1800 hence the reason I chose it.
I chose the Raptor because I'll be playing a lot of BF2, and the 10000 RPM makes verifying client data go like lightning.
My budget isn't incredibly huge, and I'd like to buy all from the same retailer so I'm having to cut back on some things.
    Is this CPU Cooler OK?
    Scythe Samurai Z CPU Cooler
It's cheaper than the Zalman, but I don't know if it's better performance wise.

i just want to prove water cooling is the better alternative.

    I have a 1.8GHz AMD Sempron 3000+

and i've overclocked it to 2.8GHz and it still maintains a temprature of 32-40 degrees =)

    I dunno, do you?
to answer you question about the scythe infinity, yes the cooler is totally worth getting. I myself and for that mattter blockedis(xelink) both have one, and it offers great cooling.

About the only down fall is the fact that it is so big, but if you want great cooling then there is no better place to go, than with the scythe infinity.

Also you should listen to john, the c2d right now is better than anything AMD has to offer. So if you were to get a e6300 and the infinity you could easily OC it to a level that 4200 counld not touch. So I don't know if you have been reading the threads or not, but the c2d proc offer way more than any AMD could.

So do yourself a favor and make the right choice.
