Ok well people say BLT is pro and some people say he isnt. Really no one is pro or anything. It is kinda simple with just c4d and some stuff, But it looks good. About every1 will say it looks good. Art is creativity but its also to catch viewers eyes. If a viewer sees a BLT sig and say its nice then it is. Its not about not being a trend whore. You try to avoid that but it is what looks good, And also creativity so dont stop creating new things.

my opinion: Art is art its just that some peices have meaning some dont. i find that the best art comes from emotion. anger. happiness depression. all of these when doing art are greatly shown i feel that being a trend whore makes you nothing but a conformist. and yes i will hate you for that. all art is un rateable because essentialy one mansd trash is another mans treasure. before you take this wrong realize that what some person likes may or may not appel to another. people shouldn't follow tutorials to the T but deviate from them and add their own bit of flair. just my opinions

yeah true. Im not saying trend whores are cool there not. But you create art really not to say your so good and make creds. You do it to catch eyes and maybe make money. You do it for love of it. Not to be a credit whore and say your so good. Alot of people make an art peice if there mad or something it takes the anger out of them (not me If im mad and do something wrong and get really pissed its all over).

If someone's a trend whore, then they truly aren't being an artist, in my opinion. (I'm a musician, not an artist, this is all a hobby for me)

True art is not about money or recognition, but about individual expression. Sure, I'll ask for a rating on a tag I posted, but if it were something that I created for the sole purpose of expressing myself, I wouldn't care what anyone thought. Creating tags help me sharpen my photoshop skills. Creating a 'true piece of art' is like pouring a part of yourself onto a canvas, and no one should critique something like that.

in a way, you're saying that a band that plays punk rock(or some other popular type of music these days) isnt really making music, because its just following a trend, which they happen to enjoy?

you might say: well, no, because every song is different, from band to band. but then again, all sigs are different aswell. if people think that the current "trend" is cool, then i dont think anyone should say something against it.

its just like people dressing emo, punk, scene, "hip-hop", etc. its all personal taste.

People should not critisize others if they can't do good graphics or maybe should not disappriciate on there work. A person starts from the starting line and then runs and runs towards the finishing line same goes for graphics.

Just because someoneone doesn't know all the in's and out's of photoshop doesn't mean they know jack sh1t graphics...That's like saying no one can criticize an author of a book because they can't write a book..

Not really. Music can be classified into genres. I don't think you can say the same about graphics.

Let me simplify this thread in one short paragraph, for those who want a piece of reality.

Signatures are NOT in the league of "Pro". Never were, never will be. Signature creations show nothing. You use custom brushes not made by you, you use effects, font, renders and everything else which is..uh.... NOT made by you. Professionalism is MASTERING something, and being the top of the class. Downloading 15 things and putting them together to get something that looks good is NOT mastering.

In other words, nobody on "NSL" is "Pro". They are classed, by a system to which THEY made up. Please explain to me WHO on NSL makes $10,000 a month? $80/hr? Nobody, they are just ranked in sig-making class.

You can argue or not agree with me, but once you can sell your signature for $200, then you're a pro.

I personally like to draw images, or use the pen tool on PS to make my images...

I admit I use photgraphs from other people but that is because I dont have the time to do that myself. I wish I did but I dont, and I make signatures for fun, ide like to be classed higher up but what really matters is the art you make in your mind and put on paper, none of this 'pro' signature making is a true form of art. It is art but not true art. For as master said were all just using something else to make something that looks nice...

Yeah, Well digital art is different. And I make some of my brushes. Like my splat ones. And i made like 3 c4ds. So yeah that is Creativity. And I do not make sigs to sell them. I make them to make them, Have fun with it. I just sell some sigs for creds and use creds for stuff like hosting and all that
