Yeah, so my 1.2g AMD just isnt cutting it anymore, <_< . SO i decided it was time to upgrade, But apon researching a bit I realised my mobo was out of date, So i decided to update that as well, Upon further research I discovered that radieon, my current video card company was starting to head more toward the all-in-wounder cards. Well, honstly I could care less about watching TV on my pc, Thats what I have an actualy Television for :) .

So I needed to get a new vid card as well.

Heres what I found browsing, Im not looking to get the totally top end. I just need something to Play CS: Source and EQ2

Yeah...Thats what im leaning toward, but if anybody could point me in the direction of a better setup for those three, I already have the ram and power supply and all that jazz. So If anyone had a suggestion for a setup that might suit my needs better it would be most appreciated.

    Thanks for looking guys.

    and thanks in advance. :)

you'll also need new ram and a new powersupply most likely. I assume you're reusing parts form your old system. if you have those already taken care of though, sounds decent.

again any part from a system that old will not be compatable period. power supply won't put out anywhere near enough amperage to the 12V rails, and sdRAM is no longer a standard.

out of curiousity, what are the ram and PSU which you have?

after hearing such, assuming the PSU is of aceptable quality it should be fine.

everything sounds fine, save for the fact that the x2 4000+ is out of stock.
don't bother with the 4200+ if you can't get the 4000, it's just one multiplier diferent than the 2800+ and you can easily OC that.

GFX card is fine, though consider an x1900GT. compare/contrast benchmarks and determine which one gives the better values given your needs. also ntoe that the x1900 overclocks somewhat better, but lacks acceptabel linux drivers at this time should you truely desire to gaming in linux(which is a pain in the ass)
