    Hello ppl!!

I need you to help me choose what to get.

I use my computer for gaming mainly. It's an AMD Athlon 64 3800 X2, with 2 Gb DDR400 and an ATI Saphire X800GTO 256Mb and a 20" Monitor

I have to choose among these:

    - XBOX 360 (Note that I have a PS2 which I dun use anymore)

    - Ati X1900XTX 512 Mb gfx card

    - nVidia GeForce 7950GX2

    - Processor + Motherboard -> Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

    Thanks in advance.

As said for my setup get Core2Duo - It would be slightly cheaper than buying the 7950 and 1900XTX

XBOX360 - Well if u do multiplayer games online on the PC then I say dont buy 360

    I would save my money.

x360 is overrated you can get it if you absolutely desire, but if I'm not mistaken, it shouldn't be hard for developers to port a majority fo the games for it to PC. your call.
c2d isn't really a justifyable upgrade when you consider the simpel fact that you ca just bump the HTT on your motherboard up a bit... and that it would require an entirely new set of ram.
x1900XTX is a great card. very powerful. it isn't direct x 10 compliant, so it wont' even run upcoming games. nVidia launches G80 sometime around october/november if everything I'm hearing is correct.
7950GX2 has the same diagnostic as the x1900.

well if u want a ati gfx card you might not be able to get it to support wiv ur motherboard so watch out

    and another note

windows XP doesnt run 2gig of ram it holds a max of 1.8 so dont spead just for 2gig
i hav 1 and mines fine

    but it sounds good

Wait for Novemberish and get the GeForce 8800. It will be around $300, and will support Shader Module 4.0, and is DX-10.

I don\'t like Console systems, which is why I say no to the 360.

I say no to the x1900xtx because it will be outdated fairly soon.

BUT, I would prefer to know your computer specs before I make a decision, because if your processor is very outdated, then I would choose the last choice.

    lol awesome suggestion :D

G80 series will be expensive ;( but one will do the trick anyways so I have to see the prices in UK coz parts are very pricey around here compared to US

    ANyways its a hard choice...

ATi's cards should be supported across every chipset. in fact, the only occurence I have heard of where i card cannot work properly would be the instance of nVidia's GeForce 6600GT AGP not properly working on old athlon XP chipsets.

windows XP can support 4GB of ram and cannot use more than 3.2GB or to a single thread.

so in all, BS on that.

well PCs are an overpried verion of consoles if you think about it.

thoughi must say, if I had the choice between a lowend PC and a console or two or an OK gaming PC you can pretty much bet I'd take the PC.
