I notice no one has posted a topic listing their opinion/other opinions of essential software a computer should have. So I'll take the liberty of doing so... Internet ---------- Mozilla Firefox w/ grease monkey plugin Spybot S&D/Lavasoft Ad-adware AVG or any other Anti-Virus Graphics ---------- Adobe Photoshop and Imageready Cinema 4d Chat ------ Prefered messaging client, they don't really have much difference, but if you want something like an all in one, I suggest trillian Media ------- K-lite codec pack full version (includes wmp classic) Gaming -------- Any game you like. Utilities -------- Openoffice/MS Office Adobe Acrobat Reader Winrar Pirate ------ Alcohol 120% Nero Burning ROM Azeurus Limewire Customization ---------------- Windows Blinds -or- Aston Shell -or- Any one of those transformation packs like flyakite or vista transformation pack Feel free to comment/critique my list. (Please keep that civilized) If you think I missed anything, go ahead and add it.
well I wouldnt use azeurus as utorrent is alot better. You shouldnt use windows blinds or astonshell the uxtheme.dll is better. Limewire Pro is better. 7zip is better than winrar. Avast is the best AV. And wtf is the grease monkey plugin?
i don't understand the windows blinds sentence. limewire pro/limewire both search on the same system. haven't really heard about 7zip, heard some it was something like faster than winrar. greasemonky lets you automatically run javascripts (rapidshare no wait time and others)
dont really need those if youre smart enough. you can get antivirus programs which come with firewall anways, ie symantec antivirus 10.0
I still prefer winrar, however, he's right. Patching UXTheme.dll for a GUI is better than any other method you have with a program. Limewire Pro is adware free. Edit: And yes, DAEMON is also better than most. Just because it has the security de-cryption software, and takes up less resources.
I think torrent things are by what people prefer personally really.. I use the Opera torrent thing And I like Bitcomet also.
