Okay so I ordered a laptop from dell 2 days ago. inspririon 1505 or w/e, 970$, and im tracking my oder, they have gone through Pre Production, and they are in the production stage now, and out of those, they have kitted it, built it, and hte only thing left to do under production is "Boxing" it, which is just putting it in the box with all its compentnts, and its telling me it doenst plan on pre shipping and shipping until sept 12th, even tho all it has left to do is box, and its saying estimated pre ship date is the 12th and the ship date is the 12th, and its estiamted to be here from the 15th to the 19th, now why does it take a week to start shipping is my question, 6 days to put it in a truck?
Consider it in this light....You may be one of 200,000 people who have gotten the same message when you check the status of your laptop. It might be a lag in the time because of the sheer amount of business they do.
Well they have updated, yesterday they were in the "Kitting" stage, and now they have to Build it becuase it was last updated at like 1 PM today, and its being boxed, then all thast left is pre shipping and shipping.
They are obviously not just boxing it, there is more to do. As mentioned above, it is Dell, give it patience, it's a big Corporation.
I read the thing, all it says is that all it needs left in the preperation process is to box it, boxing will add the mouse, the keyboard, the manual, and any other components you asked for. etc.
ehh for the price i'd have gotten the alien warecore 2 duo system but... ehh... i don't really think all that highly of Dell and a lot of their media crap is all jsut garbage knitting my ass, their just taking mass produced components and having sweat laborers put them together for about minimum wage... for the record, they are probably installing the OS doing quality checks(ok maybe not) and garbage like that.
It isn't slow shipping. At the time of buying, you had an idea of how long it was going to take. Just because something says it is doing something, doesn't mean it is. Your laptop is not the only one being "boxed".
I understand, but again, it wasnt the only one being "Knitted" and "Build" which are both FAR more harder than boxing im sure... and its taking 6 days to do it?... (And in the dell commercial they show boxing, it takes but 20 seconds! DAMN DELL TO HELL! )
