Be realistic here. They teach you that you should have safe sex, and about sex, and why shouldn't they? I mean, it's pretty obvious how you do it, insert the doodad into the other doodad... Most children will know whether they get taught it. So you may aswell give them the true facts, dangers and whatnot.
Um, my school teaches abstinance, or atleast so far. I think it's some type of mandated thing, but I would agree that safe would probably be the best choice. Cause abstinance is like saying, "we don't want humanity to go on, we don't want people to reproduce".
I think it should be taught on how to protect urself but to an audience that is ready to hear it not an elementary school student.
I think it should be taught, just not in grades lower than 10. btw, wheres that scene in your avatar from?^ ^
Its talked about every day, everyone thinks about sex at least 30 times a day. [males mostly], we are perverts. Yes, i had the sex ed in elementry, lol everyone just laughed throughout the thing.
why males mostly? you don't know that.. theres so many sluts out there theres more sluts ect then clean girls at schools..
kids in society today try to be rebels so they look cool so if you teach kids not to have sex it will make them want to more just my opinion though
all i have to say is that since they started sex ed, pregnancy, abortiuons, and the spread of STDs are up I'll let you draw your own conclusion, but really I think it should be pushed back to say7th grade or so, not 5th when my class was briefed.
Good points in this thread, I will not say if I am sexual active or not but I think it should be tought, but not to tell them not to have sexual intercourse, but instead teach them about protection, pills, ect. Then maybe the teen birthrate would drop, I have a few friend at school around 16-17 years old that are going to give birth to their second child, Maybe if they were taugh about birth control at a younger age, they could have prevented having children so young.
I think that's most likely because there are more people in the world, not because children are taught about it. As I've said, we already know how to do it whether we're taught in school or not. I mean, cavemen had no visable means of proper communication but they still managed to reproduce... So clearly we don't need to be taught it.
