I recently cleaned my LCD screen for ym desktop. I turned off the monitor completely unplugged itand grounded it and just took a light cloth and barely touched the surface but just enough to clean it.
Water water water, nothing but water. Put a damp rag or paper towel on your monitor and lightly press againist the screen to get it clean.
^^ i dont think water reacts very well with circuitry, you will short circuit your screen, at least thats what i did with the school screens, get a light rag and just wipe it carefully
this is usefull http://www.compukiss.com/sandyclassroom/tu.../article914.htm i use a ammonia free windex and spray some of it on a soft cloth and wipe the screen
when i got my big lcd tv it came with this little towel to wipe it down. i just use it or if like... im drinking something and it happens to splatter on the screen i just use alcohol pads (laptop wipes) u can get them pretty cheap
