Hey so ye, this ia bout the 3rd/4th time this has happend, All the very important bookmarks have been deleted along with the settings. I visted the FAQ page of mozilla and learnt how to back up/create a new profile but didnt find out how i can get the bookmarks back (these are important bookmarks) I searched in the computing section to find previous thread answering and giving solutions on how to fix it but i didnt find them Could somone please help me. Thanks
Nope i didnt, i turned my PC on and it was all cleared, i then went to FAQ and just 'learnt' i didnt do it
get this extension: Foxmarks Bookmark Synblockedonizer it uploads ur bookmarks to a server....when ever you lose them...just sync with it and voila, they're there....did wonnders for me after like 3 reformats...
When it does happen again click cancel on the profile manager and ctrl+alt+del and end firefox.exe. To get your old bookmarks back go to Code: C:\Documents and Settings\<NAME HERE>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random letters and number.default thing>\bookmarkbackups It will work.
bookmark backups gives you an html file with links to each link in yor book marks....i suggest the extension because it puts it all back, in order and EXACTLY the way it was, by just a couple clicks....
I dont have the files with me, They are all deleted and now i dont know how to get them back. So how could i possibly back them up without having them first?? I had about 200+ bookmarks i cant remember each and every site
sadly...you wont...but with the extension...it wont happen EVER again...unless the server gets hacked and wiped or something...
see if it is in the book mark file under C:/Documents and Settings/user/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/Default where c is the drive directory and user is your username... in 9x it's in a diferent spot which i forget
