How come there are so many of them? Seriously, this is a discussion, so please don't move/delete. I've taken part in them, and I was just defending my religion. However the makers of these seem to want a fight, or something. If you're trying to "convert" people over the internet, then you should go to your next door neighbor. If you're a Kristian, like me, then terrific, I'm glad to hear it. However most people here don't want to hear it. The majority of this forum could careless what religion you are. I do, and I wouldn't mind discussing alittle with some of you. I'm wondering, what are you thinking when making all of these topics? Are you trying to outdue the other religious topics? Or are you seriously concerned? Also, even if it isn't about some religion, it is always about something that will start a fight. I personally love a good debate, however, on any forum you're going to have people who just can't handle a debate. When I say that, I mean, they will resort to insults and flaming, instead of staying on topic. Anyways, I'm just curious as to why there are so many popping up.

I think a lot of religion threads pop up because it's essentially a debate that will never, ever end. Depending on who's posting it, it could either pop up for a legitimate discussion, or it could pop up because of someone looking to wind up an entire forum.

I have no problem discussing religion online, but I never discuss it (or politics) with any of my family and friends. It just winds up causing too many problems. However my views on religion can be construed by others as offensive, so I try to do my best keeping a hold on what I say, making sure I don't step on someone else's beliefs with my own.

i second that. for some reason people always tend to get heated and defensive when it comes to religion. it's like they have something to prove or something, which they don't. people should learn to respect others' religions and learn to be more tolerant. whatever religion you believe in, it should teach kindness and compassion. are you really devoted to your religion when you're putting others down and degrading them? no religion is better than the other.

Oh, I don't doubt that. It all depends on the person. For instance, I work with people 5-10 years older than I, and they couldn't hold a conversation even if it had a handle on it, let alone a conversation about religion.

The thing is, people always get, excuse my language, but they get b!tchy when it comes to their religion. And the worst thing about humanity and humans is no matter what we always asume, you see one thing and conclude upon that. For example, alot of people hate Muslims because of the 9/11 thing, although those people were just a couple of Muslims, same with any other kind of tragedy, like the Holocaust and stuff. All in all I think people should just stick to their religion and forget everyone else. It's your believe and opinion, it should never be forced to become that of someone else.

They like to hold onto false hope.

Your age doesn't matter when it comes to holding a conversation. Unless of course you're like 9 years old.
