My Forum Has Been Hacked :(

My forum got hacked by some turkish hack group, anyone know what to do?

did u have backups?


If so restore the latest backup of the files ( the files not the SQL)
Than check if the sql was harmed, if so restore that to


if u dont have backups u are screwed. U can contact IPS for support

ouch did they get into the ftp directly? nvm they did, if they didnt changhe your FTP pasword i suggest you change it ASAP. And also you should create daily backups of the forum/site

 

They even have there own picture how cute. lol -_- they must hack alot. Any reason you was targeted? or just random?

 

Random, i searched a bit and it seemed that it is a pretty known hack group, hacked lots of sites

Well, it seemed that my genious scripter (The_Hacker) saw where they hacked us, and he was so genious that he could fix it (H)

if you cant get into the ACP use http://tools.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/6636 to get back in and get it up again. Apply the patches from IPS to make sure it doesnt happen again.

The latest is 2.1.7, with a bunch of security fixes. I suggest upgrading.

Delete all the files and restore from a backup from before the hack though. Restore your database to a time before the hack too.

Thats what you're "supposed" to do after a hack. Any file could be compromised, leading to security problems, so the idea is to make sure there is no chance of anything left from the attack.

Yeah, my friend had one of his sites hacked (the attack lasted for days) and he was able to settle many of the security problems with 2.1.7.

 

some people just need to get a life.
