one of my friends made a good point to me today during my football practice break. and it made me think. why hasnt sept.11 been declared a national holiday. i mean some dead presidents get holidays, theres a memorial day, and a bunh of other holidays tht are due to historic importance. so shouldnt this be one of them espiascially* since it spurred the start of the iraq war. if not it should at least be a NY holiday since those peoples families were in new york and even if ur wernt there family most people knew some of the people tht died. but yet still nothing jus like a minute of remeberance which i doubt they will keep on doing for a long time.

    Yea....whatever.

It is known as patriot day. We just don't get out of school for it, so it isn't made into a big deal. Just like we don't get out of school for December 7.....and if you don't know the date, go look it up...

Well it is definitely too early for a holiday to be made for it. Maybe in the future there will be one.

And please shutup about the conspiracy theories. Just by reading your I feel myself getting dumber.

How about we drop hydrogen bombs on everyone but us and we call it a holiday.

    Who's up for it?

    I am.

Perhaps in the future, but not now.

Us New Yorkers have a pride about us; in that we like to look at the face of adversity, scoff at it, and go about our lives unaffected. I think this is why we don't have it declared as a National Holiday with a day off from work. We have our moments of silence, and then we do what it is that we do each and every day to keep New York great!!

We're the city that never sleeps, and the city that never quits!!!

that's like making a pearl harbor day. holidays for presidents were for their rememberance for what they did for our nation. memorial and veterans days are for the soldiers that fought for our nation. pearl harbor and 9/11 are days of infany that show americans suffering. And you want a day off for that?

    I actually saw some facts.

Apparantly there was no protection in the airports and usually the security is tougher and they wouldnt have got through. But w/e It should be I think hes got a point.

Bogus facts created by people who just want to put down the government, you can't believe everything you hear.

And at my school we still have a moment of silence every morning cuz of the war and stuff. That is how you are supposed to remember the day and those who died, not with a holiday. A holiday would just be using the incident for your own personal benefit, which is wrong in my opinion.
