I've been using Registry Mechanic. So far, it's worked without incident.

I find ccleaner a great program, and if you really want to buy one Tune Up Utilities 2006 is a great program (reg cleaner, Disk Cleaner, Startup manager, Registry defrag, file shredder, process manager, Internet speed optimizer and some more)

I wouldnt recommend using any programs out their except for CCleaner, System mechanic or Registry mechanic.
Lots of the other programs out there that I have tried have corrupted installs or removed cd keys, etc.

If your going to go down the path of registry mechanic just get system mechanic as its the same program with alot for features to keep your pc running good.
