if i were you, i wouldnt restore it just yet.. my comp is going kinda (tryin to speed it up for a new prog im getting) and this is what im doing.. 1st i went to add/remove programs and uninstalled programs that i dont use all the time (got about 0.5GB more space from that) 2nd i did a disk defragment (Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragment) and i got about another 0.5GB off of that. and 3rd im gonna do a disk clean up (Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup) which deletes some stuff that you dont really need such as tempory internet files and some other things (you can choose which you wish to delete and what you dont want to delete). and after all that if your computer is STILL too slow, then you could do a sys restore :)

Reformate after you have backed up all your stuff. Its a good idea to reformate every few months. And after you have reformated your pc and reinstalled all your programs make an image of your hard drive so you dont have to reformat next time.
Im about to reformat my pc.

ive had my PC for about two years now, and ive never reformated...whats the point of going through all the trouble if you don't need to do it?
