When To Build Comp?

Ima thinking about building my own computer. WIndows Vista, DirectX10 and the whole shbang is comin soon but I'm not sure when. When's a good time to build computer? Should I wait until next year? or buy now while some of the chips are at low price? thanks

 

probably the quarter after vista is released, DX10 cards should drop in prices then. Oh and Quad Core, Core Duo's should be out by then aswell.

 

^ he is refering to the Kentsfields. They are basicly 2 conroes put together. if you can afford it, i'd go for it.

 

if u have money then get it jan 07. otherwise wait til may 07.

 

Also, K8L from AMD will be released next year, so the current K8 will drop in price, again.

There is always comming better and cheaper stuff so I would say that you should buy a new one when you want/need it.
