Hi, i am using a nvidia geforce4 mx 420(piece of crap) and want to upgrade but i dont know what to get. I have an agp slot and a pci slot on my mobo the agp says its only up to 4x so that means i cant get an 8x right?

anyways what would be a good choice for a new card?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

NVidia 7600 or 7800. 7600's are cheaper, 7800's are more powerful.

AGP 4x cards suck and are expensive if you would want anything better than what you have right now.

Upgrading your mobo to a PCI-E or AGP 4x/8x and then buying a graphics card would probably be a better idea.

No point in the upgrade, it would serve a mild increase in preformance at a loss of a bunch of cash.

none of those cards are supported on the AGP platform... furthermore only an idiot woudl get a 7800 when the 7900 GT clearly outdoes it at about 100$ less

the answer to this quesiton is 9600pro for around 60$
